Megha Engineering and Infrastructures (MEIL) and KNR Constructions emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) on February 27, 2023, for the civil construction work of packages 5, 6, 11, and 14 of the 518 km Bengaluru-Vijayawada Expressway project.
MEIL has emerged as the L1 bidder for Package-1 (32.70 km long), from Nallacheruvu palli (Ch.96.300) to Yerragudipadu (Ch 129.000), with a bid value of Rs 803.15 crore; for Package-6 (31 km long), from Yerragudipadu (Ch.129.000) to Audireddipalle (Ch.160.000), with a bid value of Rs 802.22 crore; Package-11 (32 km long), from Chandrasekharapuram (Ch.228.000) to Polavaram (Ch.260.000), with a bid value of Rs 854.71; and Package-14 (28.64 km long), from Somavarappadu (Ch.314.600) to Muppavaram (Ch.343.240), with a bid value of Rs 704.71.
Similarly, KNR Constructions emerged as the L1 bidder for Package-13 (29.10 km long) from Marripudi (Ch. 285.500) to Somavarappadu (Ch.314.600), with a bid value of Rs 665 crore.
The six-lane access-controlled expressway will be developed as part of Bharatmala Pariyojana (BMP) under Phase-1, with a mix of brownfield-upgrade (36 percent) and greenfield (64 percent) routes. Its route will pass through Kadapa, giving it the name BKV expressway.
