Chennai-based MGM Group is planning to
invest around Rs.100 crore in expanding its distillation and bottling plants in
Chennai and Hyderabad.
Southern Agrifurane Industries (SAFL),
the group's liquor business company, is also looking at acquisitions in a few
states including Andhra Pradesh for expanding its markets. In Andhra Pradesh,
the company plans to produce about 1.2 lakh cases of the premier whisky.
SAFL is also ramping up its capacities
subsequent to its recent entry into West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Orissa and
Jharkand.
