At least twenty five firms have evinced interest in providing consultancy services for the MMRDA's Rs 10,000 crore Vasai-Alibaug corridor project in Maharashtra.
The proposed corridor stretching 80 km is expected to connect Vasai with
Alibaug. Besides, the stretch is likely to have a Bus Rapid Transit System as
well as a Metro line along the road.
Some of the companies who have responded to the MMRDA's EoIs are Louis Berger
Group in JV with Ingenieurbuero Voessing Gmbh (Germany) and Price Waterhouse
Coopers, Lea International (Canada) with Ernst & Young, Mott Mac Donald and
Rohit Associates in JV with Dornier Consulting and Light Rail Transit
Consultants (Germany).
The corridor is likely to be 100 to 150 mtrs wide and will connect local
townships. The four-lane roadway will travel through Virar, Vasai, Diva,
Bhiwandi and Kalyan.
