The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has invited bids for elevated corridor from Sewri to Worli providing east-west connectivity to the city traffic.
MMRDA has invited bids for designing and constructing the 4.5-km long elevated corridor from Sewri to Worli providing east-west connectivity to the city traffic and, primarily, easing traffic dispersal from and to the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link. The Sewri-Worli elevated corridor will afford two lanes each for up and down traffic.
The Rs 455.60-crore project will begin at the Narayan Hardikar Marg at Worli and meet the MTHL at its Sewri interchange near Sewri Railway Station. During the course, the elevated corridor will cross Western and Central Railway at Elphinstone Road Railway Station and Harbour Rail Line at Sewri. The corridor is also expected to provide relief to the city traffic.
MMRDA has proposed some of the conditions for the contractors who intend to file tender documents which are as follows:

Should be recognized by the government in the appropriate class

Should have achieved a minimum annual financial turnover in the last five years ending 31 March 2013, civil construction work of not less than Rs 368 crore

Should also have successfully constructed at least one flyover / viaduct / bridge in urban area using pre-cast segmental construction work costing not less than rupees 390 crore in the last five years

The bid documents will be available in the office of the Chief Engineer, MMRDA, from 5 April 2013 to 10 May 2013. Last date for submission of bids is 17 May 2013.
