Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) has decided to develop economic nodes along the completed stretch of the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Expressway. For this, two nodes have been proposed in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district, along with one each in Nashik and Ahmednagar.
Gaigaon and Jambhargaon, along with Dhotre Babtara are locations on the Vaijapur-Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar stretch where economic nodes are proposed. Further, a node will also come up at Wavi on the Sinnar-Nashik route, and another one at Savli Vihir on the Rahata-Ahmednagar stretch. With this, MSRDC aims to optimise the present economic potential of different regions and attract investments to promote overall development.
As per the Marathwada Association of Small-Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA), the MSRDC has sought land requirements from local industries keen to become a part of the proposed economic nodes. The existing MIDC areas in the district are almost saturated, and the proposed economic nodes can serve as places for future expansion.
