Roads in Madhya Pradesh are evolving beyond transportation into key drivers of economic growth and investment, said Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Rakesh Singh, while announcing six major expressways and Pragati Path projects.
These projects including the Narmada Pragati Path and Vindhya Expressway, will span 3,368 km and cost Rs 36,483 crore over the next three years. These roads, expected to be completed by June 2028, will not only reduce travel time and enhance safety but also stimulate industrial, agricultural, and tourism growth in the state. The Minister also highlighted the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects, including 948 km of new roads worth Rs 28,000 crore, designed to boost interstate connectivity and logistics.
Additionally, strategic corridors like Gwalior-Nagpur and Indore-Bhopal will further accelerate economic development. In a unique initiative, Madhya Pradesh is creating a tiger corridor with the NHAI, blending infrastructure growth with wildlife conservation.
