Mahindra Group is set to intensify its focus on India’s hospitality sector, with Group CEO and Managing Director Anish Shah revealing that its arm, Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India (MHRIL), is keen to pursue growth beyond vacation ownership.
CEO Shah described the plan to expand to 10,000 rooms by 2030 as a "conservative" goal, given the surge in domestic tourism post Covid-19. He emphasized, "Our goal is very clear, to be the number one leisure hospitality player in India." The company is examining "various options to go beyond vacation ownership," signaling potential diversification into other models within travel and tourism. He added that as these opportunities are refined, "that will then give us a better sense of how we can play this in a much bigger way."
MHRIL plans to add about 1,000 rooms in the current financial year as part of its long-term vision. Customer feedback consistently highlights the experience at Mahindra resorts, reinforcing the company’s strategy to scale up.
