Manpada flyover was inaugurated on 16 March 2013.
The 17.2 mtrs wide and 499 mtrs long flyover has been built at a cost of Rs 45 crore. Valecha Engineering had bagged the contract for constructing the bridge. The project was scheduled to be inaugurated in 2011, but issues such as environmental clearances and slow work led to the delay. The flyover is one of the four planned by the MMRDA in 2009.
The Patlipada flyover, Waghbil flyover, Kapurbawdi flyover and Manpada flyover are being built under the Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project, which the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) is implementing as the nodal authority. Of these, the Waghbil flyover was commissioned in March 2012.
MSRDC is the implementing agency for the construction of these flyovers.
