Megha Engineering & Infrastructures has been awarded a contract worth Rs 228.81 crore by the Water Resources Department (WRD), Odisha.
The contract involves the execution of six lift irrigation schemes (LIS), with intake points on the Hirakud Reservoir and Bheden river. The EPC-turnkey work also includes the integration of power systems. These schemes will cover a command area ranging from 500 to 2,000 hectares in Cluster XXVI of Sambalpur district. The project includes the distribution network up to one-hectare chak, with a total planned cultivable command area of 8,507 hectares.
Megha Engineering will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the schemes for the next 15 years.
