Micromax is geared to set up a manufacturing plant in Alwar district, Rajasthan, following the signing of an MoU between the state government and Bhagwati products.
The company plans an investment of Rs 500 crore for the project.
The MoU was signed by Rajesh Agarwal, chairman of Bhagwati Products and co-founder of the Micromax Informatics, and Veenu Gupta, principal secretary industries, Rajasthan, and managing director, Rajasthan State Industrial Development and Investment Corporation (RIICO).
The plant will come up at Karoli, near Bhiwadi town, which is about 200 km from Jaipur.
The 25 acre manufacturing unit will be Bhagwati Products’ second manufacturing plant in the country for production of mobile handsets, LED TVs, LED lights etc, for Micromax.
