Mitsubishi Electric India has set up its manufacturing plant in Talegaon area in Maharashtra with over Rs 200 crore investment. The plant was inaugurated on 8 December, 2023 at Badhalawadi village in Pune district.
The overall manufacturing facility measures 40,000 sq. mtrs. and the plant will start operations from January 2024. The company has already recruited 100 employees, including locals, and has a plan to recruit 500 employees in the future, as more products will be added.
Centred around factory automation (FA), the new plant will focus on producing a range of industrial automation and control products, especially leading variable frequency drive products, including proficient units like FR-A800, FR-D700, and FR-E700. In addition to these, the plant will also engage in production of controller like Modular I/O, GOC 35, and GOC 43.
Currently, the company has just shifted its facilities from Bhosari to the new plant, and would add more products to be manufactured from this facility. It has paved the way for a shift from importing factory automation (FA) products to local manufacturing with potential benefits of cost-efficiency and optimisation.
The initial investment is around Rs 2.2 billion, and can be further increased as the company expand the facility over time.
