Moglix, one of Asia’s largest B2B e-commerce and supply chain technology companies, has announced its entry into the energy and infrastructure sector by setting up a bitumen processing facility under DRG Industries, its manufacturing arm.
The new plant, located in Kosi Kalan in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, is set to commence commercial production in July 2025. This marks a strategic diversification for Moglix, aligning with India’s Viksit Bharat vision that prioritises advanced infrastructure development. India, home to the world’s second-largest road network, is shifting focus towards improving road longevity and minimising environmental impact.
Through DRG Industries, Moglix plans to manufacture next-generation, high-performance bitumen products such as polymer-modified bitumen, microsurfacing-grade emulsions, and hard binders. These products are designed to extend the life of roads, reduce carbon emissions, and enhance sustainability.
The Kosi Kalan facility is equipped with state-of-the-art automation and has a monthly processing capacity of over 28,000 tonne. It also houses an R&D centre to localise product development. One of the key offerings—microsurfacing, is a globally recognised technique that seals surface cracks, doubles pavement lifespan, and reduces maintenance costs compared to traditional resurfacing methods
