The under-construction expressway connecting Mysuru and Bengaluru will be completed in six months.
In the first stage, the government plans to open a stretch between Bengaluru and Maddur for traffic from June 2022, while another four months is required to complete the 118 km project. Once completed people can travel to Mysuru from Bengaluru in under 90 minutes.
The Centre is also planning to set up a helipad off the expressway, while four spots are identified to set up recreational facility for the motorists.
The cost of the 10-lane road upgradation project has escalated to Rs 9,551 crore with additional expenses of Rs 1,201.43 crore.
An amount of Rs 464.34 crore will be spent on the land acquisition to build the helipad and for recreational facilities. An additional Rs 726.4 is required for the civil works, including for the construction of the helipad and international exhibition centre.
