The MoEF has accorded clearance to the NHAI's four-laning of NH-73.
The NHAI has already acquired around 80 per cent land for the project. In
December 2010, as many as 35 bids were received for tender of four-laning NH-73.
The NHAI is likely to finalise the developer soon.
The road project is estimated to cost Rs 985 crore. The 109-km stretch of the
highway which is to be four-laned connects Panchkula, Barwala, Saha and
Yamunanagar in Haryana. Work will be carried out on BOT basis and new bridges
constructed on the way following the pattern of Ambala-Zirakpur highway.
