The National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) involves two-laning of Aizwal-Tuipang road in length of 372 km in Mizoram on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.
The project will entail an investment of Rs 4,164.04 crore. The detailed project report (DPR) was submitted in October 2015. The final DPR was received in August 2016. In June 2018, in-principle approval for forest clearance was received for section from 8.000 km to 125.000 km, 125.000 km to 250.000 km and from 250.000 km to 298.000 km.
In February 2019, the National Projects Construction Corporation (NPCC) in JV with ARSS Infrastructure Projects bagged an order worth Rs 429 crore for widening & upgradation to two-lane with paved shoulder from 298.000 km to 339.000 km (Package-7).
In March 2019, ABCI Infrastructures in JV with Bhartia Infra Projects bagged an order worth Rs 501.74 crore for Package-6 section from 250.00 km to 298.00 km of the project. In the same month, Gammon Engineers and Contractors bagged an order worth Rs 469.23 crore for Package-2 section from 65.00 km to 125.00 km of the project.
As per the latest information tracked by Projects Today, work on the project was recently commenced. The project is slated to be completed by 31 August 2023.
