National Highways Logistics Management (NHLML) and Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of Union Ministers Nitin Gadkari and Sarbananda Sonowal to develop a multi-modal logistics park (MMLP) in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
The state-of-the-art MMLP, spanning 150 acres, will be strategically linked to NH-7 through a 650 mtrs. access road and is located 1.5 km from the NH7-NH2 junction. It will also connect to the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor via a 5.1 km railway line from Jeonathpur Station and National Waterway-1, with Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport just 30 km away.
The project is expected to drive large-scale investments and employment, significantly boosting the logistics sector and trade efficiency.
