NTPC Renewable Energy, the step-down subsidiary of NTPC has started the commercial supply of electricity from a 75.50 MW portion of the Khavda-I Solar PV project in Gujarat, marking a key milestone in the company's renewable energy expansion efforts.
With the new capacity, NTPC's total installed generation capacity now reaches 84,924 MW. The 75.50 MW capacity is part of the larger 1,255 MW Khavda-I project, which falls under the CPSU scheme Phase-II Tranche-III. The project was officially declared operational from 19 November, 2025.
This move aligns with NTPC's broader strategy to increase its renewable energy capacity, as the company recently revised its target for installed capacity from 130 GW to 149 GW by 2032, with plans to reach 244 GW by 2037.
