NTPC has awarded two contracts for Vindhyachal super thermal power project (STPP), Stage-V (1 x 500 MW) at Vindhyanagar, Singrauli in Sidhi district of Madhya Pradesh.
McNally Bharat Engineering has received an order worth Rs 108.94 crore for setting up a coal handling plant at the project site. Completion period scheduled for the plant is 26 months.
Petron Engineering Construction has bagged a contract worth Rs 32.29 crore for supply of electrical equipment, inland transportation, insurance, installation, testing, and commissioning and conducting guarantee tests of electrical equipment for the project.
Vindhyachal STPP involves setting up of a coal-based power unit with an installed capacity of 500 MW. Total coal requirement for the project will be 2.5 million tpa. Domestic coal will be sourced from Pakri Barwadih coal Block in Jharkhand.
