The Public Works Department (PWD) is on track to inaugurate the Nand Nagri flyover in Delhi, in mid-September, 2025. “The department aims to inaugurate the flyover around Sept 16–17, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday,” said PWD Minister Parvesh Verma.
The elevated corridor stretches from the Mandoli prison complex to Gagan Cinema along Mangal Pandey Marg and aims to ease traffic congestion in northeast Delhi. Once operational, the Nand Nagri and Gagan Cinema junctions will become signal-free, streamlining connectivity between Signature Bridge and the Ghaziabad border.
The flyover is a key element in the government’s broader plan to make Wazirabad Road completely signal-free.
The Minister, accompanied by North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari and deputy speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, inspected the under-construction flyover on 07 July, 2025. This 1.5-km, six-lane, single-pillar flyover—complementing a 1.3-km double-decker structure built by DMRC, is nearly complete. “With environmental permissions now granted, the final phase has resumed,” a senior official confirmed, referencing earlier delays due to pending clearance for tree removal. The project also includes six U-turns to ensure smoother vehicular flow.
