UP Bridge Corporation has launched a survey for a proposed 300-mtrs., four-lane bridge over the Hindon river, connecting Siddharth Vihar and Pratap Vihar with Indirapuram and Vaishali. This bridge, set to be constructed downstream of the Hindon barrage, aims to reduce travel time for commuters.
Currently, residents from Siddharth Vihar and Pratap Vihar must take long detours via GT Road, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, or National Highway-9 to reach Indirapuram or Vaishali. An official stated that they reviewed feasible spots near the Hindon barrage in Vasundhara and will send a preliminary report to the government. The new bridge is also expected to ease traffic congestion on existing bridges near the Meerut trisection and Chhajarsi on the DME.
Additionally, a second bridge was built to help facilitate traffic between the areas. A fourth bridge exists over the Hindon for DME/NH9 traffic, while a narrow single-lane bridge near the Hindon barrage monitors water levels. The new bridge would enhance connectivity and streamline traffic flow.
