Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) is expected to commence production from its Chakan
plant near Pune, by end-November 2009. So far, the company has invested Rs 2,500
crore to set up the plant.
M&M's new plant has a production capacity of 3,20,000 vehicles in Phase I and
has plans to increase capacity in future.
The new plant will be able to produce all of M&M vehicles and trucks.
Initially, the plant will have four assembly lines and target domestic as well
as international markets.
