Cairn India has employed 4-D seismic technology at Ravva oilfield, located
off the Andhra Pradesh coast, for identifying key bypassed oil zones in the
field.
The 4-D technology is being employed to acquire 280 sq km of seismic data in
the block as it is likely to help locate untapped pockets of oil and gas within
the existing reservoir. The drilling, which is likely to be started around
October 2010, involves studding two wells and three work-over wells.
