ThyssenKrupp has secured a Rs 275 crore contract from Coastal Energen for
coal handling plant at its 1,200 MW Mutiara thermal power plant near Tuticorin
in Tamil Nadu.
The Rs 5,000-crore 2x600 MW plant is slated to be completed by the middle of
2012.
Work on the project has started and Harbin Power Engineering is to supply
equipment worth about Rs 2,000 crore. The company has completed the basic design
and the first shipment is expected by 10 April 2010. Meanwhile, an order for
civil works and Bi Flue Chimney has been placed on Gammon India valued at Rs 450
crore and construction is in underway.
