The Union Ministry of Railways proposes to set up a rail coach factory at
Kanchrapara in West Bengal. Around 150 acre of land is available at the site for
the project.
The ministry has invited RFQs for selection of a JV partner for setting up
the factory. The partners scope of work will comprise production and supply of
500 electrical multiple units, mainline electrical multiple units and metro
coaches per annum, over a period of 10 years.
The final date of submission of applications is 31 May 2010.
