ICI India, part of Dutch paint company AkzoNobel, in its bid to raise its
capacity, is planning to set up a manufacturing facility for decorative paints
in South India with an investment of Rs 100 crore.
The proposed facility is likely to be set up either in Tamil Nadu or
Karnataka. The project may require 75 acre and currently, the company is
scouting for land. The company has three facilities, each producing 70 million
litres a year, in Thane (Maharashtra), Hyderabad and Mohali (Punjab).
