GVK Power and Infrastructure is likely to award a Rs 2,000-crore equipment
contract to a consortium of Hyundai, Siemens and L&T shortly.
The contract is likely to fast-track the expansion of GVK's 440 MW Gautami
power project to 1,240 MW. The plant is a dual-fuel combined cycle power plant
at Peddapuram, East Godavari district, in Andhra Pradesh.
GVK holds 63 per cent stake in the project, IJM, Malaysia, holds 20 per cent,
and Maytas holds a 17 per cent stake.
