OCL India, an associate company of Dalmia Cement Bharat has commissioned the Rs 500 crore cement plant located in Paschim Medinipur district of West Bengal.
On 14 July 2014, the cement project was commissioned by Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal.
The company has also decided to further invest funds worth Rs 615 crore in the project.
Earlier, the company had already invested Rs 500 crore in the unit and is expecting to pump in the balance by October 2014.
Construction work on the two million tonne capacity cement plant began in 2012. OCL already has two cement plants at Cuttack and Rajgangpur in Odisha.
Bengal Cement Works will be a division of OCL and will be the anchor investor at the Godapiasal Industrial Park.
