OKINAWA Autotech has entered an agreement with an Italian firm TACITA to form a joint venture (JV) to produce electric scooters and motorcycles in India.
The JV will be based in India and is expected to begin production from 2023.
As Okinawa already has its production line, it will provide the local development of the future product, while Tacita will provide the powertrain – controller, motor, battery packs and battery management system.
The JV will focus on design, development, patenting and on-road tests till the H1/2023.
