Ola FutureFactory will be run entirely by women employing over 10,000 women at full capacity.
The factory welcomed the first batch in September 2021 and at full capacity, FutureFactory will employ over 10,000 women, making it the world’s largest women-only factory and the only all-women automotive manufacturing facility globally.
This is the first in a series of initiatives taken up at Ola to create a more inclusive workforce and provide economic opportunities for women across the board.
The company has invested significantly to train and upskill the women employees in core manufacturing skills and they will be responsible for the entire production of every vehicle manufactured at Ola FutureFactory.
The company is building the world's largest scooter factory in India. The factory is being built at an investment of around Rs 2,400 crore.
Ola Electric also plans to invest USD two billion over the next five years along with its partners to set up more than one lakh charging stations across 400 cities.
