Finnish mining technology company
Outotec has received a contract worth 35 million euros ($48 million) from Tata
Steel for the design and basic engineering of an iron ore sinter plant, supply
of proprietary equipment and provision of supervisory services for its 6 million
tpa Kalinganagar steel plant project in Orissa.
Outotec's delivery is part of the
first phase of the project and it will be the largest iron ore sinter plant in
India. The local portion of the sinter plant project will be executed by Larsen
& Toubro, whose scope of work covers detail engineering, local supplies,
erection and commissioning along with the site services comprising of civil and
structural works.
