Power Finance Corporation, a nodal
agency for the development of 4,000 MW Krishnapatnam Ultra Mega Power project in
Andhra Pradesh, has deferred the date of submission of request for proposal (RfP)
to 25 May 2007. PFC has not disclosed any reason for the delay.
PFC was to accept RFP for the same on
11 April 2007. This is the second postponement after 9 March 2007 . The 11
bidders who qualified for the project include Tata Power Co, Reliance Energy,
NTPC, Essar, Sterlite, L&T, Torrent, AES, DS Construction and Sumitomo.
The Lanco Infratech-Globeleq
Singapore- disqualified for alleged misrepresentation in the Sasan UMPP, had
filed a request for qualification (RFQ) for the Krishnapatnam project has
officially withdrawn. Moreover, YTL Berhard, Malaysia also withdrew after filing
its RFQ for the same project.
