The board of directors of PGCIL has approved various investment proposals
totalling to Rs 5,777 crore.
The first approval is for 'Northern Regional Transmission Strengthening
Scheme' at an estimated cost of Rs 966 crore, with commissioning schedule of
within 32 months from the date of investment approval.
The other investment approval is for 'Transmission System associated with
Kalpakkam Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor (500 MW)' in Tamil Nadu at an estimated
cost of Rs 139 crore. The project is to be completed within 24 months from the
date of investment approval.
The company also got approval for 'Transmission System of Vindhyachal-IV
(1,000 MW) and Rihand-III (1,000 MW) Generation Projects' at an estimated cost
of Rs 4,673 crore, with commissioning schedule of within 32 months from the date
of investment approval.
