Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) has successfully commissioned the 765 kV double-circuit Khetri–Narela transmission line, a key development in strengthening North India's power transmission network.
This high-capacity transmission line is expected to enhance grid reliability, support the integration of renewable energy, and improve the ability to transfer bulk power over long distances. PGCIL, a Maharatna CPSU under the Ministry of Power emphasised that this achievement reflects the dedication of its project teams who worked tirelessly despite challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions. The project embodies the company's spirit of overcoming complex engineering hurdles.
The new line will improve power availability in Delhi, NCR, Rajasthan, and surrounding regions while facilitating the evacuation of renewable energy from resource-rich states, contributing to a more resilient and sustainable power grid.
