Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for several key development projects in Yamuna Nagar, Haryana on 14 April, 2025.

Among the major announcements was the foundation stone laying of an 800 MW modern thermal power unit at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram Thermal Power Plant. Spread across 233 acres and estimated at around Rs 8,470 crore, the project is designed to significantly enhance Haryana’s energy self-reliance and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the state.

In line with the Government of India's GOBARDhan initiative — “Galvanising Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan” — the Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for a Compressed Biogas (CBG) Plant at Mukarabpur in Yamuna Nagar. With an annual production capacity of 2,600 tonne, the CBG plant is expected to play a vital role in organic waste management, clean energy generation, and environmental preservation.

Highlighting the government’s focus on connectivity and infrastructure, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Rewari Bypass project, a 14.4-km stretch constructed at a cost of around Rs 1,070 crore under the Bharatmala Pariyojana. This project is anticipated to ease traffic congestion in Rewari city, cut travel time between Delhi and Narnaul by approximately one hour, and stimulate socio-economic development in the surrounding areas.
