On 01 October, 2023, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone and dedicated multiple developmental projects worth over Rs 13,500 crore to the nation at Mahbubnagar, Telangana. The development projects include key sectors such as road, rail, petroleum & natural gas and higher education.

With an aim to develop a modern road infrastructure across the country, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of key road projects, which are part of Nagpur-Vijayawada Economic Corridor (NVEC). This corridor would ease transportation and business in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

The Prime Minister also informed that key economic hubs have been identified in the corridor, including eight special economic zones (SEZs), five mega food parks, four fishing seafood clusters, three pharma & medical clusters and a textiles cluster. This will open avenues for the youth of Hanamkonda, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Khammam districts.

In addition, PM Modi highlighted that many key economic corridors of the country are passing through Telangana, which is likely to become a medium to connect the state with the east and west coast. With a vision to improve logistics efficiency in the country, PM Modi dedicated the Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline project worth nearly Rs 2,170 crore.

The LPG pipeline, from Hassan in Karnataka to Cherlapalli (suburb of Hyderabad), provides a cost-efficient as well as eco-friendly mode of LPG transportation and distribution in the region. Additionally, PM Modi also laid the foundation stone of the multiproduct petroleum pipeline of Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL) from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad (Malkapur). This 425-km pipeline is expected to cost Rs 1,940 crore.

Further, the Prime Minister announced that the Government of India will establish a Sammakka-Sarakka Central Tribal University in Mulugu district, which is anticipated to cost around Rs 900 crore.
