The PVNR Expressway
project is scheduled to be completed by July 2009. The Hyderabad Metropolitan
Development Authority is developing the Rs.439 crore expressway, an elevated
corridor from Sarojini Devi eye hospital to Aramghar Junction, in order to
provide better and faster connectivity to the International Airport at
Shamshabad.
The project comprises
of three main components i.e. a 11.46 km four lane elevated expressway, a 3.9 km
long trumpet interchange and a 62 mtrs underpass.
The trumpet
interchange which is a 4 lane divided carriageway is completed. Also the
underpass at the Amargarh Junction on NH-7 has been completed and is likely to
be opened for public use by January 2009. The Inner Ring Road from Rethibowli
Junction to Aramgarh Junction has been strengthened and widened with 6 lanes.
Span Consultants Pvt
Ltd is the consultant for the project, while Simplex-Somdatt JV are the civil
contractors for the expressway.
