Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam (PVUNL) has declared the successful commercial operation date (COD) of Unit 1 on 05 November, 2025.

This milestone strengthens PVUNL's commitment to improving Jharkhand's power infrastructure and contributing to India's energy security. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the plant features ultra-supercritical parameters for high efficiency, aircooled condensers to minimise water consumption, and 100 percent dry ash technology for optimal ash utilisation. Unit 1 underwent extensive testing and stabilisation, proving its operational reliability.

The declaration was marked by the presence of key PVUNL officials, including CEO A K Sehgal and CGM Anupam Mukherjee. PVUNL continues to focus on operating the unit at peak performance, ensuring a safe, sustainable, and stable power supply for the region.
