Parle Products is set to redevelop its iconic Vile Parle East biscuit factory in Mumbai into a commercial complex.
The original manufacturing site, spanning 5.44 hectares, is where the Parle-G biscuit was first produced. The redevelopment will involve a built-up area of 1,90,360.52 sq. mtrs. with a project cost estimated at Rs 3,961.39 crore. The plan includes four buildings, each with two basement levels. The first three buildings will have six floors, with the A-wing of Building 1 partially dedicated to retail, restaurants, and offices.
This transformation highlights Mumbai's broader trend of industrial legacy sites, such as mills and factories, being repurposed into high-value real estate. These changes reflect a shift from manufacturing to service-driven growth, reshaping the city’s skyline. As real estate values continue to rise, such redevelopment projects are key to Mumbai’s evolving urban fabric, mirroring global trends in industrial site transformation.
