Pegatron Corporation has leased close to 5,00,000 sq ft at Casa Grande Industrial Park in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, for its mobile manufacturing facility.
The company plans to invest Rs 1,100 crore (USD 150 million) in the Tamil Nadu facility.
The move is in line with Pegatron Corporation’s sanction of Rs 1,100 crore for its growth plans in the country through subsidiary Pegatron Technology India.
Tamil Nadu hosts electronics companies such as BYD, Flex, Foxconn, Motorola, Nokia and Samsung. Tata Electronics is also likely to be in talks to invest USD 676 million in a mobile parts facility at Hosur.
