Andhra Pradesh Water Resources Minister Nimmala Rama Naidu reviewed major components of the Polavaram Irrigation Project on 04 December, 2025, including the diaphragm wall, and ECRF dam, and announced that overall progress has reached 88 percent.
The diaphragm wall reconstruction has touched 950 mtrs., achieving 75 percent progress, while the technically complex right connectivity tunnels are 82 percent complete and the left tunnels stand at 62 percent. The Minister informed that the buttress dam is complete, allowing continuous work even during the monsoon, and sated that the current administration has achieved 12 percent advancement within a year.
Stressing rehabilitation as a priority, the Minister said Rs 2,000 crore has been released to support affected families, and the left main canal is moving swiftly, with Godavari waters expected to reach Anakapalli by 2026.
