Polavaram Project Authority (PPA) Chief Executive Officer Yogesh Paithankar conducted a comprehensive review of the Polavaram Irrigation Project, expressing satisfaction with the progress of ongoing works while emphasising the importance of completing the project on schedule.

CEO Yogesh convened a high-level meeting with senior officials from the PPA, the State Water Resources Department, and the executing agency to discuss construction activities and resolve issues affecting progress. Officials briefed Paithankar on developments since his last visit and the implementation of suggestions from a team of foreign experts who inspected the project in January. During the day, he inspected major works at Gap-1, Gap-2, and the Earth-Cum-Rock Fill (ECRF) dam, where engineers explained the construction methodology, progress, and upcoming milestones.

CEO Paithankar also reviewed the status of rehabilitation and resettlement for project-affected families, directing officials to complete the work within set timelines. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Polavaram Project is being closely monitored by both Central and State governments,” urging officials to prepare a clear action plan and ensure timely completion while assuring expedited approvals and design clearances.
