For the year 2006, Posco is planning
to invest $200 million in its 12 million tpa integrated steel plant at Paradip
in Jagatsingpur district of Orissa.
The company has applied for 4,000
acres of land for the plant and about 3,500 acres was owned by the Government.
Posco expects to get mining licence
for iron ores from the State Government by 2007, will get technology from
foreign collaborators and mining will be done by Indian mining contractors.
Orissa expects investment of $31.9
billion through 43 MoUs signed for setting up steel plant projects with 58
million tpa capacity.
