Chief Secretary K Vijayanand has directed the AP Central Power Distribution Company (APCPDCL) and district officials to ensure the timely completion of ongoing power projects.
The focus is on rooftop solar, feeder-level solarisation, the revamped distribution sector scheme (RDSS), smart metering, and EV charging infrastructure. During a review meeting with district officials, he emphasized the importance of finalising land for solar projects, executing power purchase agreements (PPAs) promptly, and improving system reliability and consumer service standards.
The feeder-level solarisation projects, covering over 190 MW and 76,000 agricultural pumps, have been tendered at a competitive tariff of Rs 3.09 per unit. He also set a deadline for contractors to complete all loss-reduction works under the RDSS by March 2026. Regarding the PM E-Drive Scheme, which plans to create EV charging infrastructure at 90+ locations, officials were instructed to ensure swift progress on the project.
