Noida’s power infrastructure is set for a major upgrade under the Centre-state joint Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) and SCADA control scheme, with a Rs 1,313 crore plan approved.
The initiative, to be executed in two phases by 2027, aims to modernise the ageing electricity network. Key measures include laying underground hightension (33kV) and low-tension (11kV) cables, establishing new substations, and strengthening existing ones. A central control room in Sector 62 will oversee real-time monitoring of the city’s power system.
The city currently has 550 km of 33kV and 1,601km of 11kV lines, which will be interconnected to ensure supply continuity—allowing one substation to back up another in case of failure. Officials emphasise the scheme will provide seamless and reliable supply in the long run.
