In a major clean energy milestone, Premier Energies will invest Rs 5,942 crore to establish a fully integrated solar manufacturing complex at Naidupeta Industrial Park, Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh.
Minister for IT Nara Lokesh announced the project, crediting Andhra Pradesh’s fast-tracked governance, investor-first policies, and strategic port-led logistics for enabling the deal. Discussions began in October 2024, and by February 2025, the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation allotted 269 acres for the facility. The project will include a four GW TOPCon solar cell line and a five GW silicon ingot and wafer plant, ensuring complete backward integration. Expected to create 3,500 direct employment, the complex will drive MSME growth and strengthen India’s solar value chain.
Minister Lokesh highlighted Naidupeta’s proximity to ports and strong infrastructure as key enablers for rapid commissioning. The project, part of Andhra Pradesh’s renewable manufacturing corridor, positions the state as a national hub for next-generation photovoltaic technology and green industrial expansion.
