Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated a Rs 76.5-crore milk powder plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on 11 October, 2025, as part of a broader initiative to enhance the agriculture, animal husbandry, and food processing sectors.
The plant, established under the Indore Cooperative Milk Union and supported by the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD), has a production capacity of 30 tonne of milk powder per day. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlighted the state's aim to increase its contribution to national milk production from nine percent to 20 percent in the next five years.
The CM also emphasised the government’s commitment to fair farmer compensation, citing the Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana for soybean growers.
