1. Boolean Searches :

i. AND - Shows results where both terms on either side of the 'AND' operator are present. 'AND' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi AND metro result - It will return records in which 'delhi' as well as 'metro' both are present.

ii. OR - Shows results where either term (or both terms) is present. 'OR' must be in upper case. For example search term - delhi OR metro result - It will return records in which either 'delhi' or 'metro' or both are present

2. Proximity Searches

A proximity search looks for terms that are within a specific distance from one another. For example, search term - 'delhi metro'~10 result - It will search for records where 'delhi' and 'metro' are found within 10 words of each other

3. Phrase searches

You can search phrases using double quotes. for e.g. 'delhi metro' result - It will return records where 'delhi metro' phrase is found.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has identified roads to be upgraded under the Rs.2,648 crore Mumbai Urban Infrastructure Project. The project will be implemented in three phases and is slated for completion in 2006. The financing for Phase I will be done as follows:

The project envisages construction of 14 new flyovers, six elevated roads, eight rail overbridges and 15 pedestrian subways in the main island. For the eastern suburbs, six elevated roads, one rail overbridge and eight vehicular subways are being planned whereas for western suburbs, 17 flyovers, seven rail over bridges and one vehicular subway will be constructed.

 

Priority has been accorded to 35 roads in the eastern suburbs and 22 for the western suburbs, the work on which will commence by end-2003.

 

The project also includes augmentation of the existing road network and removing encroachments on 250 km stretch of roads. The state government estimates that there are around 1,900 encroachments in the western and eastern suburbs.

 

The proposed projects are:

For Eastern suburbs -

  • Andheri-Ghatkopar Link Road – six or eight lane road
  • Sahar Road, connecting the Airport to Western Express Highway
  • Eastern Express Highway
  • Western Express Highway to Kole Kalyan University campus – 4 lane divided road
  • Anik Paranjapole link road – six lane
  • BKC to CST Road – four lane divided road
  • Vidyavihar ROB – four lane divided road
  • Road from Junction to RC Marg and Chotiram Gidwani Marg to Eastern Express Highway (EEH) near Suman Nagar – six lane divided road
  • Sion Dharavi link road – BKC junction – four lane elevated road from EEH to VG Tapse Chowk on Bandra –Sion Link roadand Trumpet Interchange at BKC junction

 

For Western suburbs –

  • JN Road from Santacruz station to Western Express Highway (WEH) – eight lane
  • JP Road – six lane, four lane ROB and flyover
  • Main Link Road from Oshiwara to Dahisar – six lane, four lane flyover
  • Relief road from VM Road to JP Road – four lane
  • ROB in place of Milan Subway – four lane and ROB
  • Link passing through Juhu Airport – 1 (Missing) – six lane tunnel

 

Some missing road links identified for development are:

  • East Island Freeway from Chembur – Mankhurd link road to Ghatkopar flyover on Eastern Express Highway (EEH)
  • Goregaon – Mulund link road – 5 km
  • Link parallel to LBS Marg from Asalpha to Hiranandani – 3.70 km
  • Roads connecting Andheri-Kurla road and road parallel to Sahar Airport road
  • WEH to judicial staff quarters – 1.6 km
  • Link from SV Road to Versova Beach Road – JVLR extension
  • 11 km of missing link in the Main Link road between Bandra and Dahisar

 

Roads proposed to be widened

  • Eastern Freeway – Museum to Sewri station, Sewri to BPT pipeline gate, truck terminal road junction to Anik Panjerpole Link
  • Dr E Moses Road from Worli Naka to Mahalaxmi station
  • Dr Ambedkar Road (Sion – Byculla)
  • Mahim Sion Link to Mahim Creek ( Extension of Senpati Bapat Road) – six lane road
