The 170 km Pune Ring Road project being set up by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) is now expected to be completed by December 2025. The earlier completion date was March 2025.
At present, land acquisition is going in 72 of the 83 villages of Pune. MSRDC would require around Rs 11,000 crore for land acquisition purposes. The entire project is expected to cost Rs 26,000 crore.
MSRDC expects to appoint contractors for the project by April 2023 and execute the project in 32 months. Of the total project cost, Centre will invest Rs 10,234 crore and the balance cost will be generated through town planning schemes.
