Quippo-WTTIL combine is likely to acquire the telecom infrastructure company
owned by Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) (TTML) for around Rs 1,318 crore.
Wireless TT Info Services (WTTIL) was a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata
Teleservices which got merged with Quippo in 2009.
21st Century Infra Tele, the tower arm of TTML, has 2,535 towers in Mumbai,
Maharashtra and Goa which are likely to be acquired by Quippo-WTTIL.
The proposed acquisition is expected to take the overall portfolio of
Quippo-WTTIL to over 38,000 towers nationally. The towers have been valued at Rs
52 lakh a tower.
