Reliance Utilities & Power (RUPL), the subsidiary of Reliance Industries (RIL), the captive power plants operator at RIL's manufacturing complexes, is planning to set up power plants in Gujarat.
The company intends to expand its generation capacity with RIL's refining and petrochemical expansion projects. It will set up 91 MW gas-fired plant at Dahej. Currently, the company has 1,116 MW power generation capacity. RUPL is also firming up plans to set up power plants at Jamnagar, Hazira and other manufacturing locations of RIL. RUPL is preparing details of configuration, timeline and cost of setting up these power plants.
In RUPL, Reliance Industries holds 26 per cent equity stake and Reliance Industries Holding has 47 per cent stakes.
